Default Router makes the speed slow!!!!

Hi.
i just bought a new router as upgrading to windows 7 has done sacrificing the usage of my loyal modem. windows 7 doesnt support the modem. after installing the router, my internet speed has a decrease of 50-80%. This happens to my cousins too...what causes this and what should i do????

im using an adsl connection of 512kbps. download speed WAS 65kbps which is now 12-30 kbps.

First, I would suggest that you start paying attention to what you are doing. This is a WOODWORKING FORUM about a woodworking tool called a router. Oh! By the way! I do have this bridge for sale...
