Default I am new to making use of a router

As mentioned above i am new to the use of a router. I have an old crftsman router that i purchased approximately in the year 1960 and have used it twice in all that time. I am currently attemting to rabett (building a wood and wire pen) for a puppy, using 1 x 2-1/2 inch wood. I'd like to know the easiest and safest way to cut these rabetts accurately?

Hi Jack

It sounds like your router will only take on 1/4" shank bits, a standard strait bit with the edge fence would do the job for you just fine..I think..
