Default New owner of Freud router FT2200!

Hi
I am a beginner and really enjoying working wood.
I used the router a few times free hand and I recently bought the portable table to try it fixed. Unfortunately, even though the instructions says the table base plate is pre-drilled to accomodate the FT2200, the holes don't seem to fit the router base plate. So I have to drill new holes based on the instructions that I hardly understand...
By the way, is there a trick to remove the collet from the collet nut easily??
Thanks

Hi David & Welcome,
I don't have the Freud router but some collets are made to stay with the collet nut especially the newer routers. My routers are like this. When you change the collet from 1/4" to 1/2" or vise versa it will be one unit with the nut.

Have a nice & safe day!

The router came with the 2 collets but only one nut (on the 1/2"). I guess it's better to simply buy another nut (faster when I need to change it).
Thanks!!
