Default Craftsman Router model-315175170

Hi, I'm Kent - and I'm really new to using routers... I was given a variable speed router as a gift, and I'm wondering about mounting it in a table. Would this be a good application for this router? And if so, what speed setting should I use?

Thanks!

For most bits, use it at full speed. You only need to think about reducing the speed when you start using cutters over 1-1/4" (or so) diameter, like the large panel raising bits.

Why not use it as a handheld first. There are some good threads about template projects that would ideal for this router. If you have a specific project in mind, you could then decide if you need to mount it in a table, or not.

To answer your question, yes, you could mount this router in a table.
