Default PC 690 Broken Knobs

Okay so why did my knobs on my practicly new router snap off. One knob broke on the plunge base and one on the fixed base. Whats up with that? Oh to add to it they did it while being stored not while in use. I opened up the case to find this. Is this a common thing or did PC have a bad batch of parts?

Hi Kermit

From the look of the dent in the PLASTIC case it looks like something dropped on the case and took the knob top off right at the joint...

+1 for BJ's comment. The fact they both broke on the same side indicates something dropped on the case or the case was dropped somehow. It's still kind of odd.
You might try some "super" glue also known as Cyanoacrylate to put them back on.
