Default mortises with a plunge router?

My small drill press isn't working and I need to make a couple tenon and mortise joints for a sewing cabinet I am making. I'd like to try cutting the mortises with my router without buying an expensive router table or complicated jig. I only need to make a few joints so I am trying to get by without an expensive purchase.

Hello Greg! I found this Yesterday, and it may be just what You are looking for. You'll have to make a jig, but it looks quite simple http://www.mokkou.jp/english/hints.html
