Default Bosch 1617EVSPK Sales - Canada

I popped into the local Lowes, to check out some stock. While there, I stopped by the tools department to have a look. Shouldn't have! The second 1617EVSPK I bought at the Canadian Home Workshop show was a good deal, at CDN$289.

However, Lowes currently (until Dec 22) has the 1617EVSPK on for CDN$277, a discount of CDN$100 from their usual price of CDN$377.

Hi Cassandra,

We all should know by now that "drop in" to the tool department of any store can be a painful experience.

James, I couldn't agree more with you on this! I'm not overly annoyed by this episode. When I was looking for a table saw, I noticed that Home Depot had the saw on sale for CDN$599, down from something like CDN$699. Not bad, given a 16% discount.

Then I went into Lowes and asked whether they would match Home Depot's price. They phoned HD to confirm the sale price and then offered to sell the saw for $549.10 (10 percent off HD's price.) Of course I was sold -- a $700 saw for $549.

My only hope is that when Lowes/Woolworths combine in Australia next year, that a greater range of machinery at reasonable prices will be available in Australia.

Our biggest chain , Bunnings, do not handle this level of equipment at the moment.

Maybe we will get some competition>>>>
