Default Ridgid 2 1/4 HP Fixed & Plunge Base

Does anyone have experience with the Ridgid Combo Kit. Being discounted at my local HD, fixed and plunge, case, 2 1/4 HP, adjustable above table, lifetime warranty.
What say you all.
Really decent price.

Hi Art - I haven't got one of those but Wood Magazine did a comparison on several routers, including the Ridgid, a couple of months ago. Ridgid scored top value as the two brands that scored slightly higher in the testing were substantially higher priced. Full article is in the October 2010 issue.

The problem with experience is I usually get it immediately after I need it.

I also have that combo and love it. The thing that caused me to buy it was the price ($129.95) and the LIFETIME warranty if you register it online.

I also bought the Ridgid Trim Router and there again the Lifetime warranty, cost and so many positive features.

It is a great router. I managed to get the older 2 1/4 HP model. It has slightly more power, and has two collets instead of one and an insert. The newer model is the same machine, but I think the older more powerful one is better. If you can get it, do it

I have the trim router and it is very good seems plenty powerfull although this is the first real router I have had not counting one from Harbor freight which I sold after using only 2 times. I also saw this combo on sale at my Home Depot on Monday but they were sold out and being discontinued no rainchecks so I bought the last Porter Cable 892 for $99.00 will be putting this in a table when I finish my shed and expansion I am currently building

Good to hear these replies, just bought the Ridgid combo yesterday. Regular price was 199 at the homedepot. Saw it on sale for 130 last night and snatched it.
