plenty of things you can build for around the shop. I like to try new or just improve on techniques, joinery, methods, design etc.. I'll try and take ordinary shop jigs to the next level, via appearance and/or functionality. always trying to make due with scraps and materials left over from previous projects. Tablesaw sleds, shooting boards, bench hooks are all handy items to have. Tool boxes and tool cabinets are another area where you can refine your skills while making good use of your time in the shop. Making your own tools is another area where I've found alot of enjoyment. Recently finished up my first backsaw. There's nothing quite like using a tool you've made yourself.
just about all of my 'projects' are purpose driven. requests by friends and family for something particular or gifts to be given away.
remember there are picture frames and boxes, then's there's Picture Frames and Boxes!!!
