Default Show me the way

Hello, As some of you know I am in the Navy Reserves and build plaques and such. My unit has been tasked with building some shadow boxes for show and possible production. I can build that basic dog house shadow boxes etc. with no problem except covering up the glass along the bottom of the shadow box without adding an extra strip piece in it. I think that might look tacky.

I want to somehow either put a groove in there ( I wouldn't know how to precisely accomplish this ) or router out an entire section with like a rabbit bit or something.

If anyone can assist me I would greatly appreciate it.

Hoyett, when I was building those Flag boxes, I cut a groove on both sides for the glass paynes. Also cut a groove for the glass over the flag. I only used my table saw, cut the slot 1/4" in and deep use a 1/8" saw blade, moved the fence over a little so 1/8" glass would fit without binding. Easy stuff. Gunner Robbie USN Retired.
