Default Triton router price drops

Hi,

Does anyone know why Triton routers are suddenly very cheap to buy. The big one can now be had for less than $200 and the smaller ones are even cheaper. Has something happened to the company or is there something wrong with the routers.

I'm curious because I love my Triton 2 1/4. Mounted in my table and works great.

Best,

Bob

Can't help you there, Bob.

Triton are no longer controlled by the Aussie company, Global Machinery Company, but by a Swiss company since 2009.

I hope the sale price in Australia drops like that. I will buy another one. Probably the smaller (2 1/4hp) one.

The price drop hasen't seemed to hit the west coast yet, but I hope it does. Pretty much everyone that I have heard of that has one seems to love it so I guess thats a good enough recomendition for me to get one. Had chance to get one of the big ones with the bad plastic adjusting gear from Craigslist about a month ago for $75 but it was already gone when I called.

Good question Howard. Now that Kreg Tool has US distribution rights through their subsidiary company Avail Distributing there should be a steady supply. Kreg limited the number or Tritons available to Sommerfeld Tools which is why they now offer Milwaukee routers. Amazon is usually a good place to check.
