I recieved a dovetail jig from my dad's workshop, and do not understand how to set it up to cut finger joints. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Greetings Tom and welcome to the router forum. Thank you for joining us, and remember to have fun, build well and above all be safe. Need more information, like what kind of jig, etc..

I'm a rookie myself but I've done a couple of box joints with a simple jig. A dovetail jig seems like overkill.

Hi Tom - Welcome to the forum
There are several different configurations of dovetail jigs around, would help us to know just which animal you are looking at, make, model if possible, and any other information you have.

The problem with experience is I usually get it immediately after I need it.
