Default A Budget Combo Router

I am an old retired person that does a little woodworking as a hobby. I have been thinking about buying a combo router, I have never owned one. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what would be a good one for a hobbyist?

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Regards,

G'day Eugene

Welcome to the router forum.

Thank you for joining us

A number of members use combo kits and will probably make some recommendations.

Hello Eugene, glad you joined. While I can't 100% answer your question I can maybe point you in the right direction. If your budget allows it, buy new and watch Sears for sales, I have a combo I purchased several years ago from them and use it occasionally, it seems to be fine. Some members will post here when they see a sale and I believe you can pick one up for around $80, check in every day and watch the new posts. Craigslist, ebay and the like are other great options. I use Craigslist often, and check it daily. I have gotten some terrific values from both but lately try to stay with craigslist. (craigslist: washington, DC classifieds for jobs, apartments, personals, for sale, services, community, and events)

Hope that helps

Jack

Greetings and welcome to the router forum. Thank you for joining us, and remember to have fun, build well and above all be safe.

I have a Craftsman , a fine router for the cost, around 80.00 on sale, it isn't as rugged as the Ridgid combo but for the price it is a great tool.
