Default Router guides for Skil

I bought a Milescraft 1211 Base Plate Metal-Nose Bushing Set for Routers.
It saids it is good for Skil routers. I can't find holes compatible with my router.
Can I drill holes into the base to match my router holes or will it crack?

G'day John

Welcome to the router forum.

Thank you for joining us.

It should not crack - some members use that plate and have drilled for their own routers

Hi John - Welcome to the forum
I can't imagine not having a pattern in there that matches. Those are almost a study in too many holes. Remove the old plate, put the 5/16" bushing in the milescraft plate and either the centering pin (if you have the 1/2" collet) or a 1/4" bit (either router bit or drill bit, doesn't matter here) in the collet. Drop the Milescraft plate on the pin/bit and rotate it around. Some of the "matches" may actually be slots. Good luck

John Schaben

The problem with experience is I usually get it immediately after I need it.

Hi John

It will fit you don't need to use all the holes in the router base you just need two of them to hold the plate in place, the one below is on a T4 router.
You can drill new holes but I don't think you will need to.
