Default Setup of rail and stile bits

I am trying to setup my rail and stile router bits. They have come with shimes for this job, but I am looking for a procedure since I don't know where to start-which bit do I do first.

Hi, Mark
I start with the cope cut on the ends of the rails first (ends of horizontal pieces on top & bottom). Then machine the profile all four pieces with the stile bit.

What brand bits do you have?

Thanks for the feedback. I don't quite know what brand of bit I have as they have no branding on them. The main problem is that the profiles do not fit into each other and I need to add or subtract shims. I just can't get it right, maybe I am not starting in the right place. The other thing I noticed is that the bits have different diameter bearings on them. I this correct?

Hi Mark

" different diameter bearings on them. I this correct? " = not the norm.
If it's a New set take it back to the store and have them replace it with a set that will fit..

I purchased the correct size bearing so that problem is solved. It just seems that the ogee profile of the two cutters is not the same and I can't get them to match. I am suspecting that the ogee cutters are not a matched pair. I can't take this back to the store since I bought it about a year ago and only got around to using them now.
