Layout and how-to?
I've cut a rectangular opening in the transom of my f/g boat. It measures 8" x 5.75" with 1" radiused corners. The f/g is 5/8" thick.
I want to make teak trim to cover the rough f/g edges. Making the straight channel piece(s) is easy. My question is, how to make the four corner pieces?
The wood grain MUST be at 45 degrees to the sides to reduce short grain problems. So, how would I lay this out on the material and How do I create a jig or template to make these delicate pieces?
I should mention the dimension of the channel shape should be a max 3/8" thickness so you can see it will be rather tricky.
I hope I have explained this in sufficient detail for your understanding.
