Cup hinge template?
Can someone point me to some reasonably simple instructions for making a template or other device for my router so that I can create a "hole" (or whatever the proper term is) for a cup hinge whose cup is oval-shaped?
My router is a Sears Craftsman router about 25 years old, and it does not look to me like I can attach a bushing to it. (Unless there's some kind of bushing that replaces the base plate?)
I'm a comparative newbie to this stuff. I've done lots of simple routing, such as cutting a shape on a piece of wood, and I've figured out how to do a few things. For example, I figured out how to make a template to rout a round 1.25-in. cup. And I can see how to do a template for an oval-shaped cup, but I suspect that my way is the longer, more labor-intensive way. Thanks.
