Talking Triton Router U.S. Availability

Since the Triton router series are popular tools in this forum for power, price, above-the-table height adjustment, and dust collection, I thought I'd pass the word that the Triton tool line is now available in the U.S. from Carbide Processors. There were some changes to the Triton distribution model earlier in '14 that made them difficult to obtain.

I just got a promo email this morning:

Woodcraft carries them too. Interesting to see some discounts from CP. I hope Triton has gotten their US customer support fecal matter aggregated. There have been several complaints on WW forums.

That is good news, Steve.

I will always recommend them for in table use...

As Phil said, there have been complaints about lack of service immediately prior to and following the change in distributors.

This seems to happen too often. Makes one wonder why no one hangs onto that distributorship. My guess is either there is little money in it, or else it is more trouble than it is worth.

My luck would be that I would need a part while they are between distributors! That's one of several reasons I have never warmed up to the Triton brand. They have some good ideas, but just seem too gimmicky to me. YMMV.

I wish the new distributor the best. We'll see how this one goes...

I have found that hand tools are the best choice when I want to make mistakes at a slower rate of speed.

I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy every minute of it.
