Default what router to buy

I will be buying a router very soon. I'm considering the Hitachi m12v2, dewalt
dw616pk, or the Bosch 1617evspk. Any thoughts or sugestions would be very helpfull. I would like to keep cost around $150 to $200. thanks Dave

Welcome Dave, they are all good routers. I don't really know of any real downside to any of them. You have guys that love Bosch, guys that like Dewalt and so on. The best thing to do if you have it narrowed down to 2 or 3 routers is try each one out for fit and fiddle around with it and see which one you like the feel of or feel most comfortable with. That 80% of the battle right there. Welcome to the Forums, hope you enjoy it.

hi: Chalagan said it all, it's a matter of how you feel with a particular router.
You have done your home work in that you narrowed it down to to the choises that
you mention. The other thing to keep in mind is how you will use it, in a table or free hand. Hope this helps ... Woodnut65

Thanks for the input. I have decided to go with the bosch with both bases as I plan to use it in a table and freehand also. I enjoy reading everything you guys have to say in this forum, again thanks,
Dave

Welcome Dave. The Bosch 1617's are my favorite routers. It's tough to beat them on features, but some people prefer the different methods of control offered by other brands. There is no "One size fits all" when it comes to routing. I think you will be happy with your choice.
