Default Looking to buy a new router

Hi fellas,

Looking to upgrade from my old craftsman rig to a new one. I have heard that bosh 2.5 hp is a great model. A little feed back would be nice

Thanks

Michael, the Bosch 1617 routers have been in production for many years. In 2005 Wood magazine did comparison testing and still rated the 1617 as their top pick with the Craftsman 26620 (a 1617 clone built by Bosch) coming in 2nd place. I own a couple 1617's and am very happy with them. Since that test was published 3 new combo kit routers have been released that are very popular with our membership. They are from Ridgid, Hitachi and Craftsman. You can read the many reviews by our members to get a feel for the routers performance, but nothing is a substitute for holding the router in your hands and working the controls. Everybody is different and the feel of these routers is as well. Only you will know which is right for you.

PS. The Craftsman 26620 was discontinued and is for the most part no longer available.

Hey, Michael. Welcome to the forums. Can't help as far as the Bosch since I don't own one, but you might want to take a look at the Triton routers.
