I haven't tried the Whiteside reducer, not familiar with it actually. I can say that the one sold by Musclechuck works great.

I second what Brian says.

The mussel chuck is $35 and whiteside is $10.
Amazon sells the mussel chuck and advertises white side reducer big savings.

Gary, please don't misunderstand me... I'm not knocking Whiteside or their products. They have a VERY good reputation and sell great products. I'm sure the reducer is just like the rest of their products, and it probably works great.

Gary, here is the important thing about which reducer you use: precision. Either of these brands will give it to you.

I have the Whiteside reducer and the Musclechuck reducer and prefer the Whiteside reducer because it is easier to remove once it isn't needed. In my experience the Musclechuck reducer is so tight it takes a pair of pliers to remove it. Please don't misunderstand me, the Musclechuck reducer does the job but so does the Whiteside reducer. Not only that the Whiteside reducer is several times cheaper off of Amazon.
