Default Another week in the shop making boxes / crosses

I was traveling for a week so haven't had much time in the shop. While driving near Hickory, NC I stopped at West Penn Lumber and got some granadillo, padauk, redheart and a little tiger maple. Here are some tea boxes and crosses that I have made. The two dark boxes are made of granadillo with tiger maple top, the next is redheart with tiger maple top, the last box is made of padauk with tiger maple top. The crosses are made of scrap of the granadillo, redheart and birds-eye maple. I will give another post in a few days on finishes. I hate finishing, but it is a necessary evil I guess. Really like those boxes, Malcolm, like the way you matched the wood too. Keep them coming.

Very nice. West Penn has some really nice wood, don't they. I wish they weren't so far away from me.

Charley, I was in Georgia & South Carolina & decided to go 100 miles out of my way to go visit this lumber company. I like to see what I am buying instead of online ordering.
