Default Harry's router skis on steroids

Saw this one by accident today, an enormous router slab surfacing machine. Just an example of a router planing jig taken to the extreme.

A very interesting and not too complicated machine. Very interesting Doug.

Looking at that thingie makes me wonder if one could make a rig that would use a floor sander to accomplish the same thing. Similar to a hand operated router rig, just a lot bigger, and using a wicked sander, to do the same thing.
