Default small cocobolo box

this is the first time I've worked with cocobolo & what a suprise it was , some good & some not so good, I could not get over the change when I put on the natural danish oil the grain just popped out at you , the pics do not serve it justice, I could have just left it as is but I put on about 5 coats of stays clear poly with wet sanding between each coat & that was over 3-4 coats of danish oil that was wet sanded also, box measures 7" X 3 1/2" X 2 5/8" high, I found out that sanding this wood is very messy, the red sawdust just carries all over the place, you sure have to watch & not walk on a white carpet ( ha! )

Nice box and finish. Are those magnets on the corners or what?

Hi John, nice job on the box. I like the way you designed the lid. Cocobolo is one of my favorite woods, but it sure can make a mess and a mild irritant also.

Extreamly good job on the box and the finish. Love the grain of the wood. Great job.
