10 minute table
4 Attachment(s) We had a grand openning the other day of Hobby lobby, and while we were there my wife saw a couple of small side tables. She said she had been looking for one for her sun room, but couldn't find anything she liked. This was the first I had heard of it....
Anyway, while in the middle of another project, lightning struck and I had an idea for a tile topped table. In about 10 minutes it was sketched out, and it was off to the races.
The legs and trim are leftover poplar, cut from boards that were too twisted for much else. The bottom shelf and substrate for the top are leftover oak ply, and the top is a 12x12 porcelain tile in a color that I think compliments her "beachfront" sunroom decor.
Right now it's unfinished, while she decides if it is going to be white, whitewashed, or stained a shade or two darker.
It's put together with glue and pocket hole screws. The crossbracing is pocket holed from the top, so the fasteners aren't visible. The two holes in the cross bracing is from careless pilot drilling.... they'll be filled soon.

The Mrs. is happy, I only had to spend $2 for the tile, and it bought me lots of good husband points. All around a good deal. |
