Default Any Computer "Nerds"?

Just wondering if any of you folks step outside the shop and do some computer programmer or anything else as advanced on the computer?

I am more hardware and firmware than software. I have not worked in the field in 15 years so not much is relevant.

I do still build my own systems out of parts old and new as a second hobby. It is so simple to make up new systems these days, I use test beds like this to test my systems.

This is a system from about 18 month ago:

Actually, that system is still running just like that never got in a case yet. Overclocked to a 3.85 GHZ speed and 4 GB ram in this one.

I have what my son and I call a his "Viper system" I'll post a pic.

Very nice , I'm in agreement with you, custom is the way to go, only way I get my PCs. Although my hardware knowledge is limited, I tend to consult my brother for the actual assembly of the computer.

Yeah, I've been in software development for about 24 years. If you have a specific issue/question, pm me and I'll help if I can.

Win7 is because they screwed Vista up so bad. Just like WinME.

I also build my own. Ever since my first 386 machine.
Here's the guts to my last build.

Almost exclusively C++ at present; have worked in everything from Fortran IV to C to Java, plus most scripting languages.

I specialize in the BFH language.

BTW, the best software M$ came out with, is, WinXP Pro. If I'm understanding correctly, even Mac is having some probs.
