Default Tropical Storm Harvey

Just a shout out to all our friends in Southeast/south Texas. It's time to batten down the hatches.

Good luck. The predictions are changing from last night. We may see a Cat1 hurricane at landfall and possibly one that is stronger. So much of the Texas coast is low and flat, flooding is a definite possibility.

We should be OK. In our thirty years here, we haven't even come close to being flooded. We have had wind damage though.

Here is a link to a local weather guy. He is pretty straight forward and no big city media bias.

I was in Lowe's a couple of hours ago and they had several pallets of water that was being sat by the door. I don't need any so save it for someone else.

I am on the east side of Houston, but my daughter is on the west side 45 miles to the west of me. She has stocked up with supplies to keep Blondie and her little brother going for a few days. Her fiance is on his way home from Louisiana a day early. Thankfully, his company has taken notice and is sending them home early.

My wife, her daughter and son in law and several of her cousins are on a cruise ship in Cozumel and due back Sunday. As for me, I have a table covered in drawer parts and plywood in the truck for the drawer bottoms and cabinet backs.

I just looked at radar, Mike, and it's not looking too good right now. Looks like y'all are getting hammered with rain and I just heard on the radio that some areas of Texas will get nearly 3' of rain fall (yes, feet). We lived in Corpus Christi in 1961 and went through Hurricane Carla - they aren't any fun! Stay safe!

Good luck Mike and all others in the area.

Someone I consider a master woodworker once told me that a master woodworker is not someone who never makes mistakes. He is someone who is able to cover them up so that no one can tell.

No tea, punch or alcohol this go round, just water...at least 5 gallons stored in the jugs. And breakfast!

Now all of my batteries are charged (including me)!
