Question Online games?

I have MS 10. I have always enjoyed their Solitaire game to relax a bit. However, yesterday they kept showing a pop-up for X-Box with playing as a guest. I knew they wanted me to pay after my guest time ran out. I checked the box Do Not Show Again but I got it each time I tried to play Solitaire. I fooled them. I deleted it! Are there any online games that are safe to download and play? Thanks. I checked at Game Box and Staples- they have gone the way of the dinosaur and nickel beer.

John; do you use Firefox as a browser?

Obviously the first step is to get Firefox... it's free Open Source software! So are (most of) the games.

A friend of mine fixes my computer when something goes wrong. About two weeks ago my hard drive went out and he put a lot of games on there. I don't play games.

Dan, I have Firefox. Thanks for the links. My main concern is getting viruses or worms in my computer. Had that happen once.
Checked the first link- nothing really appeals to me. A friend rates a game by the number of bullets in the air at one time.

I prefer solitaire with cards. However, I do like chess, but no partner, so check in on-line every once in awhile, really relaxing.

If you feel that MS stole your old Win 7 games when you upgraded to Win 10, try... Get Windows 7 games for Windows 10 - Winaero and get them back.

Thanks, Paul, this is a different computer. The one with W-7 had a hard drive crash and couldn't be revived. Cost more to revive than to buy an new computer.

I've used a free utility called PC Decrappifier a couple of times on my kids' computers. It looks for bloatware (games, free trials, etc.) and gives you the option to uninstall them. Even if they're not taking up much space on your hard drive, they slow your computer down a bit because every time the hard drive is trying to access a certain program or data, it has to look through all the files on the drive until it finds the right thing. That can also reduce wear on the drive and help it to last longer.

It seems I never finish what I

TenGees
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I've been fighting with the games on W-10 for the last 10 days since our new computer arrived (old one died). This is a fabulous link and it worked like a charm. However, be aware there are multiple traps to get you to download other programs so read VERY carefully before hitting the "Download" button! All that said, it brought peace and harmony back to my household.
