Default The lottery seems rigged to me

Ok the 55 million dollars on the Lotto Max was just won in Quebec , no surprise there .
What I would like to know is , if the provinces of Ontario and Quebec make up 61% of Canada's population, why do they win 98% of the time?

If I'm reading it correctly , our lottery foundation no longer drops balls , but uses a computer that generates random numbers for each draws winning numbers .
I much prefer to actually see balls drop from a machine , as I swear the systems being manipulated by these computers .

Just my 2 cents

I agree 100%, Rick; it stinks of rot.
I don't buy tickets 'cause enough of my taxes already go to Quebec.
I'd love to know what %age of the tickets sold are sold in Quebec; if it's the vast majority of them, that'd account for the apparent disparity in winners from there???

Corruptioon in a government run operation? Naaah. Those bureaucrats are all paragons of virtue. Just ask, they'll tell ya.

I'm probably just a tad paranoid, but when there is lots of money involved there is usually some sort of corruption. Not always, I'm suspect but most of the time.

Computer generated, eh? Put another way, it is an invitation to every hacker in Canada, if not the world.

So you are saying that someone or more than one person/employee basically just like you or any other paid slave is a crook risking their future by manipulating a lottery for the benefit of who exactly?

I just read where some guy here in the states was convicted of lottery fraud. Involved knowing the programmer that worked for the state lottery. So yes, the lottery can and has been manipulated.

Dennis; I think if one were to look at gambling in Nevada, it would be quickly apparent that the odds greatly favour the House. I believe that's by design? All the slot machines are electronic now ie. programmed.
