Pretty neat concept. Looks like it may have floated also.
Think of the ingenuity it took to develop the thing. Smart man!
Going "side hill" may be an adventure.
Sure glad they came up with the snow machine since though.

Thank you so much for posting that, Harry. That was absolutely fascinating. I'm amazed that it doesn't seem to have been developed more commercially. The Germans would have loved it in Russia. The low ground pressure really makes it quite revolutionary.

That is a new one on me. The snow cat I am somewhat familiar with. When we lived in Wyoming we went to Yellowstone one winter and spent the night at the Old Faithfully area. Our son was only two or thee so snow mobiles for the trip were out, had a great time and sure was beautiful.

The people who used that spiral movement gave up on it for another technology after they pretty much got everything they could out of it. I guess it was no good on the side of hills which made them jump from that spiral rotation to a track with claws.
