Default Windows 10 removing download ?

At least I think that’s what’s happening? I must say , I have never hated and had a disdain for a company as much as Microsoft .
Not at the beginning, as I loved windows ME and XP . But things went south for me with this Windows 8 and 10 absolute abomination .
Would you like to know how I really feel lol .

Anyways , I am trying to download a program called E Machine Shop , a free cnc program .

Well I get this every time I try to download it . I googled it , and someone said to disable windows defender . Well I checked and it’s turned off , so now I’m really confused .
I hate how I have to google everything every time I try to navigate Win 10 .
They did nothing more than take XP and hide everything in order to make it look like a new operating system .

Here’s the link and here’s a pic of what I get when I try to download . When I click on get free cad . It downloads , but then there’s nothing to open

Can't help with your question but hope you will get it answered.
This may be off topic but my computer friends aren't real fans of W10. I had W7 and loved it- if it ain't broke, don't fix it. FWIW, I had a friend who wrote software for the medical profession. My first computer had Digital Research DOS, known in the business as Doctor Dos. He said that it was actually a better system than MS but never got the hype and the applications as MS.

Rain Man, I was having the same issues when I tried. I changed to Explorer for the search engine instead of Google and then it downloaded right away.

Good Luck, I hope it works for you.

Frank ,I was using windows explorer, and was debating to try google instead lol.
I’ll try again tonight .

David , yes I get that exact window . But after hitting save or run , I get that window I posted .
I’m going to try google chrome instead of explorer and see if it works .

David , did you actually go further and confirm it was working . I have a feeling you only got as far as I did.

I also read win10 will remove programs it deems unfit . Love how they control our lives now

I bought this laptop a few years back , because it was supposed to be the last laptops Staples had with Windows 7 . But when I turned it on , it was 8 .
I thought Iíd try it thinks it was imminent anyways . I should see if I can still buy a copy of 7 , and try to load it instead

Rain Man, Not sure if this will help you, but it did me. I had to use Explorer for my search engine. It would not download using Google. It worked for me then and downloaded very quickly.

Good luck

I downloaded it and Norton immediately deleted it saying it was an unsafe program. If you're running an antivirus program in addition to Windows Defender, this may be what's happening to you. If you are absolutely 100% positive that it's a safe program, you might try temporarily disabling your AV program.
