Default Scored

This day in the year 2018, let it be known that I scored a lovely Stanley No 60 Dowel Jig. Nothing like a quality tool to brighten my day. Total cost, including shipping, $23 and change. A very good price as I see it. Photo included. Today, I am a pleased dweller in a canvas dwelling - or, for those who don't have a new tool, I am a happy camper.

Nice score, I have one similar but not that old I think. Do you do a lot of doweling? I don't find myself using them like I did many years ago.

Haven't doweled anything in quite awhile now, but intend to do some now I have this. I have a small solid cherry bookcase I made in 1954/55, 10th grade shop class. Fastened with dowels and glue, using a dowel jig to drill the holes, likely a Model 59. Been wanting my own ever since, so am very please I was able to get this, especially at that price; they can be priced very, very, high.

This is what I would like next. But there is no way I could justify that much money. There is apparently a knock-off of this for about $260, can't justify that either.

Finally got to the post office, and picked this up today. You can definitely tell it's not new, but it is in very nice condition. Glad I got it. Now need to see if I have any bits that will fit the smallest guide - don't think I do, so need to start shopping for bits, already have a brace, and a few bits.
