Default I think I've Been Here

@Harry and Rick (and anyone else interested),

I found a video that looks awfully familiar (like I've been there before) and it's on Youtube. Go to "Changing Of The Bulbs" to see it. Not everything is exactly the same, but there's too much similar to pass it off, and my last time there was 55 years ago that I did that job. It was quite easy to do, but a bit difficult to get to.

Charley, if I climbed that tower I would be so tired I would have to come back the next day to put the light bulbs in.

It,or one very similar has been posted on the forum some time ago Charley.
My son is one of several technicians who maintain our West Australian ABC transmitters but there is a separate team who maintain the antennas (including the bulbs) and replacing the feeders when melted from lightening strikes.

I've seen many of them that were posted here, and none said "that's it" to me like this one. The type of tower, it's height (it was 384'), the location and direction of the larger microwave link antenna, the parking area at the base of the tower, the transmitter shack and it's placement, even the shape of the mountains nearby, all tell me that I've been there before, but it was 55 years ago, so some things are a little different. This tower had guy cables to the top, and the one that I climbed didn't have any at all on the top 84', so it moved around in the strong winds. I was told that it didn't have them because they would interfere with the transmissions, but there are cables connected to the top in this video. Maybe they added them since I left. There is also a fall arrest cable in the video and I didn't have that luxury back then, but that also could have been added since I was there. I'm going to try to contact the poster to see if it's the same antenna tower that I once maintained. I got to do everything for them, cables, lights, and antennas. I did it all.

If I get an answer, I'll post it.

I was wrong, I turns out that tower is located North of Vancouver, BC , but it sure looks like the one that I used to maintain.
