Default A computer question?

I have been wanting an answer to this for a long time so here it is. I have seen on the net that they want you to download (DOC) for a PDF I think. It is free but should I download this? I am thinking that there might be something harmful doing so but I really don't know.

Don in Murfreesboro,Tn.

Measure once cut twice and it's still to short.

Don, I'm not sure what you mean by "download (DOC) for a PDF. If you need to view a PDF you can get Adobe Acrobat Reader from this link - it's a free viewer. If I misunderstood your question, please provide more details about what you're trying to do.

PDF=Portable document format. A document created in Microsoft Word can be saved as a pdf and sent to others that don't have MSWord. The Adobe reader lets the user view the file.

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

Don, Any time I download any file of any kind, I scan that file with my anti-virus program before opening...or even moving it. I use bit defender, which allows me to right click the file and choose scan with bit defender. Once that is done, I am confident the file can be moved, viewed or whatever safely. A doc file is a Document file, usually associated with Microsoft Word...which can convert it to a pdf file if you wanted. Other anti-virus programs may operate differently, and I would suggest you try yours by targeting a known good file on your computer...and have your anti-virus program scan it...just to get familiar with how to do it. After that you could download your doc file, and scan it...with confidence.

Stick just recently put me onto NITRO; I really like it! As he said, probably a lot more user friendly than Adobe.
