Smile Phone call made our day

Just got off the phone with my youngest son James in Houston, He popped the question and Nikki said yes. Our youngest is 26 and we were wondering if either of the boys would ever get married. Well this hasn't much to do with woodworking but it sure made a happy parents out of us. and all that kind of stuff.

Actually it does have something to do with woodworking, What can I make for them that will a keepsake. I am open for suggestions, please keep them is the area of a novice wood worker.

Congratulations Jerry. I have made some very nice clocks as wedding gifts. I usually get my parts from Klockit. You can use pics from their catalog or site for design ideas. I've never bought a plan or a kit. Usually see one I like and build on the fly.

Congrats Jerry I know how happy my mom and dad were when they found out I was getting married. They thought I would never leave.

Congrats on the good news neighbor. I know you are busting at the seams. I like Rusty's idea on a clock for a gift and I think Harry has a great how-to photo shoot on one in the archives. Let me know if you need help locating it.

Congratulations Jerry, I made these gifts for my granddaughter's engagement and she marries this coming Monday.
Perhaps if you want something simpler you could consider a ring box on the lines of the one I recently posted.

Congrats Jerry. How about a keepsake box? Whatever you make them I'm sure it will be appreciated.

Pete
I've cut it twice and it's still too short! But only at one end.

That's great, Jerry. Best wishes to the kids, too.

See my comment in the other thread regarding "The Question".

Thank you everyone, I like several of the ideas offered. First I need to get the basement done so I can set up the shop, but seems there so are many other projects for folks in our church family that I have had problems getting it painted.

Tomorrow ofter church I will get down there for sure and put last details on joints , sane and paint. Monday I will be back out to the house we are getting done for the missionary and that should finish it. Fellas you would not believe the difference, I asked if they had taken any before pics but they had not so I cant show you, but believe me there is a tremendous difference.

Congrats Jerry. How about a rolling pin for her incause your son complains about her cooking and a wooden paddle for him to keep her in line. ( a home crafted picture frame for their favorate wedding pic )
