Default Today's Accomplishments

While I didn't get into my "shop" to route any signs, Ken and I did get done the fence we wanted put up to keep the dogs out of the back corner of the yard by the compost piles. They get back there, and I don't wanna come out. Last summer, they were getting into something that was making them high... freaked us out. So, this year, they'll have to stay where we can see them.

The second picture, I had to fabricate the tops. We cut all the dog ear boards in half to three feet, so I had fabricate the other boards to match.

I even got a little sunburn on the face... first one of the season! (We were out working on the fabrication of these fences from approx. 10:30 a.m. I think until after 4:00 p.m.)

Good job, looks like all the tops are even. Do you have any paint left over?

Don't know if we're gonna paint it, Herb. Ken wouldn't even let me me sand them. If he has to work Saturday, I may go out and at least sand them.

Nice even job. I did something like this to fence in the open, underside of a small shed. Didn't bother trimming the corners, but cut the second part so the fence is dog ear, flat, dog ear, flat all the way round. Keeps the critters out, looks kind a nice.

We each get a leg, Harry sometime I take over both, and other times he kicks me out and wears both

Once I set up the first one, Herb, I put a piece of painters tape where the edge of the board had to go to get the right cut. As for the top being even, I can thank my trusty square for that. I took the wide lip part, and used that to move the board up to be level with the preceding board. Worked out well. I'm really proud of how these two fences came out. The long one (where Ken is standing) in on a decline. We were going to have the gate swing out, but I suggested we have it "roll" to the side, instead. Less land leveling.

The phantom editor appears to have been active again, possibly because I used the word "bastardization" when referring to language corruption. Here is the Wikipedia definition:

navigation, search

Look up bastardisation or bastardization in Wiktionary, the free dictionary.

Bastardisation or bastardization may refer to:
Corruption (linguistics), the idea that language change constitutes a degradation in the quality
Hazing, activities involving harassment, abuse or humiliation used as a way of initiating a person into a group
Hybridisation (biology), mixing two animals or plants of different breeds, varieties, species or genera
