Generally watch the movie Independence Day, where Wil Smith saves the world from slimy creatures. We can see fireworks from the back porch. A few years ago a local company that makes display fireworks was firing off leftover bombs very near the ground. Pretty much as spectacular as it gets.

The more I do, the less I accomplish.

I meant to start this thread from my own account. I didn't realize I was logged into the admin account.

Just Sandy and me at home, quietly, may watch ID4 like Tom. Quietly, that is, until dark-thirty when our quiet neighborhood will go crazy with explosives. But it's ok, kids having fun - I did the same thing way back when. I just hope they're all careful!

I will be watching Independence Day followed by Independence Day: Resurgence. One thing I have liked about these films is all the various people with very diverse skills come together to solve the literally existential problem.

Rain is in our forecast. That's OK by me. Keep the palapa wet so the bottle rockets won't burn us down.

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

My wife got some beef hot dogs today...add that to what I'll be doing on the 4th. A number of years ago at a week-long retreat, we read the declaration of independence. What a fascinating document. The history around it is also fascinating as well.

Whatever my wife says we are doing. I don't travel on holidays. Probably stay at home or go the kid's house or in-laws. I prefer to take an "off season" day or weekend and enjoy it rather than fighting mobs at a park, lake, highway, etc.
