I can see uses for this such as engraving box lids etc.

It looks like you just sit down where you want it so it could be used to engrave something relatively small on a large object like a table top where a standard machine would need a huge work table. I wonder if it has a locating system to show where the image will be? That would allow ganging different images together.

2 watt isn't much power for engraving, but it could be fun to see what it can do!

(unfortunately, with tuition payments for the next several years my days of taking a chance on things like this are much fewer and far between....)
