Default One clever guy

I am fortunate in having a very good friend in America who is also a forum member but hasn't posted for quite a time. He happens to be very versatile with wood and metal, plus many other skills. At the moment he is about to build a huge extension to his home and it's been approved in principle. He is going to have to make lots of cement and concrete and so decided to buy a cement mixer. The first two shots give an idea why most people would have rejected it outright even at the low price of $50.00, but not this guy, the third shot shows it just a couple of days later with patches welded over the rotted parts of the drum and an amazing paint job.

Harry, tell him to get back on the forum and post some good stuff. I am dumb as a rock and need help. He really did a nice job with the mixer. It's really hard to weld rotted steel.

Measure once cut twice and it's still to short.

That looks very much like mine. I was going to see if I could revive mine but it's frozen from sitting too long and won't turn.

Someone I consider a master woodworker once told me that a master woodworker is not someone who never makes mistakes. He is someone who is able to cover them up so that no one can tell.

Harry, tell your friend the drum needs to spin at 25 rpm to flop the cement most efficiently. That mixer is called 1/4 bag size. It is capable of mixing 1.75 cubic ft at a time.

Garry, I'm sure that he knows all that but just in case I've just emailed it to him, thanks for the info.

I'm sure you would Artie, he's a real "doer" he certainly isn't just a talker, some of his projects are amazing, such as his portable saw mill, tipping trailer, a lift in his home for his late mother, and a bed that she stood in, pressed a button and it slowly went from vertical to horizontal and there were so many more in the years since I "met" him on this forum.
