Funny how rules and guidelines don't apply to some companies.

There have been a number of Smart Meter housefires...the fire depts aren't allowed to attribute the fires to the meters. It's always something else in or around the meters.
I'm shocked (heh...) that the Insurance companies are sitting still for this.

I'm actually unclear on why Fortis is involved; it was a BC Hydro program financed through the Provincial Gov't(?).

I'm glad mine is on a pole 100' from my house now. I don't know if the insurance companies will stand for for too long. A good portion of the electrical codes was written based on their input.

Someone I consider a master woodworker once told me that a master woodworker is not someone who never makes mistakes. He is someone who is able to cover them up so that no one can tell.

Lucky(?) that I rarely venture near the side of the house that my meter is on. I usually have one or two walls, brick and block, attenuating any signals before they get to me. If that's any help???

Unfortunately I don't think the brick wall helps. Otherwise, you would't be able to use your cell phone in the house. Fortunately for me the Energy Board here in New Brunswick turned down NB Powers request to roll out smart meters because they couldn't make a financial case for them.
