If you watch the films of D-Day, there is one part that holds my interest. My cousin, Johnny Trubiski, was a sniper; went in the first wave. There is a segment of four GIs carrying a stretcher with a GI on it. The GI is up on one elbow, facing the camera. The GI also has a pencil-thin mustache. My father always claimed that was my cousin, his nephew. Dad said Johnny could stand off 50 paces and drive thumbtacks with a .22 rifle.
BTW, some of the photos have been around a while, not just a recent release.
