Stick, after I read your post, I recall a factory engineer saying that silicone also plays heck with paint on appliances.

certainly does and it is a royal pain to get rid of and under control...

This would have been the week that I'd have finished chewing thru the restraints...

Stick: how about powder coating??

Is there a shop that does powder coating in your area? Might be something to look into.

Once read an article about resorting an older 1970's Uni-saw. Owner had it powder coated candy apple red, with yellow flames around the clean out hatch.

when you have a finishing booth .. so much is a non issue...
rub surfaces need to ne left bare metal from the start...

This would have been the week that I'd have finished chewing thru the restraints...
If only new layers hadn't been added....

Maybe try changing format. If you are on the enhanced mobile view then try the classic version (down at the bottom of a page on a regular computer, can't remember if it's the same on a phone.)
