Somebody may have forgot to turn their butane torch off. Hope it was insured.

Daughter's hinting that she thinks something's a bit hinky(?).
My guess, if it's work related, would be either a heater or spontaneous combustion (Linseed oil?) .

Wow, scary to have that inferno near by. Lucky there was no injuries.

I'm guessing my machinery obsessed 4 yr. old grandson thought it was the best (extended) Christmas ever!
Several firetrucks, and an excavator the next day; Holy Hanna!!

"under renovations" is a remark in a very large number of house fires here. I put it down to there being some pretty dumb renovators around. Around here it would be a pretty safe bet every time. I feel for the people at their mercy.

Amen, Thomas, especially the immediate neighbours. I haven't heard anymore from my 'onsite reporter' but i'd guess from the fire's intensity that the adjacent homes must have suffered some heat damage. Vinyl siding would be toast, literally.

There's not a lot can make me feel sick to my stomach, but seeing somebody's house on fire almost does it. James

Yeh; watching those wildfires in California a few weeks ago was literally gut wrenching.
