First off it's a Chimp, not an ape. And if teenagers can do it, why not a Chimp?

Primates. Ask him to program a computer, though. I would venture to say he is doing it by buttons or icons. Five year old kids know more about computers, etc., than adults. If I have a computer problem or question, I ask my 11 yo grandson. He operates the A/V system at church plus the cameras for TV and video recording.
