I spoke too soon, the problem is back.

My laptop works perfectly on all internet sites EXCEPT Hotmail.
Since last night I have had no messages showing in any folders.
About a dozen attempts to load, and clearing out all the temporary junk files, did nothing.
Then this morning, it was working again.

15 minutes later, and the messages have disappeared again.
The page and all the headers and folders are there, even showing me there is 1 new message, but nothing on the page.
any ideas?

Maybe just an issue on their end? They may be having server issues or data base issues.

Just tried and I can access it from another laptop on the same wi fi, so its looking like my old machine is at fault.

If I was feeling snarky, I'd say the problem is Windoze ...

Actually, I didn't realize Hotmail was still a thing. I thought Microsoft converted everyone to Outlook some time ago.

This is an 11 year old laptop, running vista. Its done me well and I will be sorry if it is the machine.
I'm using outlook, but my address is hotmail.

I've just tried on a newer laptop using windows 8.1 and all my emails are there, so its looking like the end for my vista.

Windows 7 support is ending in January. You might have to go to Windows 10 or Linux.

Sent from my Hallicrafters S-40 using morse code.

Dan... how many years have you been waiting to use that one

I have another 4 year old laptop running 8.1, but thats showing more signs of age than my vista.

Bizarrely, this morning the vista has returned to fuull operation, and the 8.1 has gone dead on me.

How humorous is this?
My 11 year old vista is working perfectly, the problem turned out to be a dud wi fi router.

In the meantime, my wifes 4 year old laptop running 8.1 has thrown a hissy fit and is no longer working at all. After a mandatory update and shut down last night, I can only get a black screen. All forced attempts at entry bring me back to it asking for the account password, which it will NOT accept!

Flavour of the month I am not.
