Default Still learning

I've been working on a design for a cane for a retired, disabled, fireman. His wife is one of my nurses. Got most of the design work off the web, everything but the seal on a firetruck door. Finally took some pictures of a real truck. Then realized I wanted the whole thing to be round, not square, when I cropped the picture. Searched on the web to find out how to do it, and all of the morons writing how to do it assumed that anyone reading what they wrote would understand it. Well, I didn't . But got a brainstorm, or something, and not only figured out how to do it, but also how to match the background color to delete the parts of the doors showing white parts. This is what I started with. The other is the end result.

Actually the finished picture is a bit cocked, and the red background color doesn't quite match the top picture. That is because I used a different picture to do it, and didn't notice it was cocked, and the color was off, but by that time I was done, so will redo it later.

No problem, Theo.

The end result is what counts.

Here's a more 'head on' picture of their truck logo. Their website also has a bunch of pictures with their logos on T-shirts, so they must have some digitized version of these logos they use for ordering them. They might be willing to provide you with a copy of it if you tell them why you need it.

Good luck!

Yeah, I'm looking forward to see it too. But, turns out not as simple as it sounds. The guy has no feeling in either hand, which is why he is retired now. Not only can he not use my standard handle shape and size (one size actually does fit all - normally), which means I will have to mock up a minimum of 5 handles, but quite possibly also some wider. Then I've got to track down his wife, get her to check what works and what not, then she will have to get back to me with the information (I will have it all written down so she won't have to give back the mockups), so I can basically design a totally new handle.

The have a website? I spent days trying to track down a usable picture of a door, and nothing. Never ran across a website at all. Arrrgghh. Some days you win, some days you lose, some days are called off on account of rain. But, we don't sweat the small stuff, anything under ten pounds we haul up by rope. Thanks for the pic. Now it is onward and upward.

I have the fire dept badge drawing out. What type of file do you need, maybe I can sent it to you.

The end result is going to be a bit longer forthcoming than anticipated. I just figured it out, now I will need at least 5 mockups for height, more if minimum height adjustments are deemed necessary. Then it seems likely 20 for thickness, as that will likely be more critical in width. No real biggie making them, have that figured out, just a time consuming PITA. Add that to the time to get ahold of the wife, get the mockups to her, her checking for workability for him, getting them back to me, all the time hoping a different size or 3 will not need to be mocked up. Everything below the handle will be my standard stuff, so no problem there. But, once every thing is given the OK, as long as I have the preferred mockup back, or at least the dimensions, I will crank up my CNC, and good to go. There will be pictures.

CNC, for the unenlightened, is coffee 'n coffee. And it's cordless.

Drawing? They have a drawing? That would be interesting to see, but I will be cropping a photo to use. Thank you anyway.
