Default Where There's Smoke...

Nothing like the wildfires you guys had in the US and Oz last year, but it's only June up here (June is normally a wet month in the Pacific Northwest...not this year).
A few miles West of me, and even closer to the East; but separated by Howe Sound on that side. I only mention this because of the neat photo a neighbour took of five small water bombers filling up on a local lake.
The fifth one is just at the left edge.

There's a good chance of rain here tonight and tomorrow

That's a cool picture Dan - we've had our fair share of rain this spring in southern Ontario - thought I was going to have to build an ark and start gathering animals. Thankfully, we finally got some nice weather the last few days. Seems like we only have two seasons now - cold and hot.

Beautiful pic, hoping all goes well and the flames extinguished quickly. We need our forests.

Sorry to hear of the drought and fires. Things seem to be changing for sure. Look at the global picture and historical data and you'll seem many pattern changes. Hope they get those fires out quickly.

I was a bit curious as to the type of plane they're using; I hadn't seen these particular ones before.

Apparently the BC Forest Service is building a (small) fleet of them, in addition to their choppers.
Probably less time lost to maintenance?

Yes, two seasons, traditionally known as Winter and Construction.

They look practically useless as a water bomber . Like how much capacity can they hold?
We’re having a great weekend, followed up by a week of rain after Monday according to the weather network

When our forecast looks like that, it never rains.
