Default Polaris Office suite?

I have a Samsung Tab A that I'm trying to find word processing software, it that is the correct term. Apache Open Office isn't compatible. I called Samsung and deciphering the accent, I was told Polaris Office and Goldbox, if that one is correct. Not a computer whiz although I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express once. What I'm looking for is a way to write articles, etc., without taking my laptop. Found Polaris on the web and it states it is compatible with MS. Got MS Office on the laptop but don't want to have to pay twice for the same thing. Your help is most appreciated.

Look for online reviews of each product online. Search: Reviews of _______. I generally look at the 3 and 4 star reviews (on a 5 star spread) and I want to see a lot of them. If there are a lot one and two star reviews, I pass.

The issue I've had is the lag when using a portable, bluetooth keyboard. I found a small folding keyboard that wasn't too bad, but your keyboard is very much a matter of what you're used to. It was frustrating to me to have the letters appear a second or more after typing them. I cannot imagine using the tiny virtual keyboard on a device to write more the a very brief email. I still have a small netbook with Word on it that I liked to use when traveling. But my eyesight isn't what it used to be so I like a larger screen these days. I have a new Win 10 laptop with tiny batteries and very light weight that runs for 5.5 hours on a charge. I travel with that now. Never have liked the pad type devices. Personal preference.

The more I do, the less I accomplish.

The tablet was a Christmas present as my old one was was slower than Methuselah! It is in a folding cover and has a remote keyboard- Edge which is compatible with just about anything. Has Bluetooth capabilities, etc. DRT, thanks for the tip. Will research it.

The android version of MS Office is free to use. It also integrates very nicely with OneDrive so you can maintain your document easily between devices. That is what I would use.

Thanks, Mike. Free is one of my favorite words. Need to confirm if it is the Android system. Will check the owner's manual, Settings, grandson. Should have the info somewhere!

Samsung Tablets do run Android, and you should be able to get it from the Google Play Store.
