Default Censorship is alive and kicking quite well apparently.

Sorry for those not in the know, as it will clearly be deleted soon anyhow.
So will copy/paste direct from last comment.
Peace to you all...

Still buy a fair amount of books, but all used, all on-line, partly because they are not available anywhere near me, and partly because you get a used book, in nice condition, and it cost little to ship - go to a new book store, price the same book, and it could cost 5 or 6 times what I pay for on-line purchase.
You are reiterating my exact thoughts.
The title of this initial thread, is more misleading than what I should have started a new thread on.

If I offended (which CLEARLY I have) it was not entirely my intention. Other than a quick laugh (apparently at my expense.)
I will say, I am done with the topic. And have said most of what I wanted to, without offending (OTHERS).
So best I leave this one alone.

I am seeing the 2 easy sides to see to the forum, and QUICK. As my WHOLE thread on sexism that I copied and pasted FROM POULAR SCIENCE. Is gone. Yet, the only thing I added was, what OTHER HERE (including offended peoples) HAD posted in a joke thread....!!! I must assume I will not be tolerated here. Sorry to be offensive TO all in question.
You can just erase ALL my posts please, as I see no reason to stay where I am censored. FOR NO REASON, other than personal views.

Sorry Theo, as I stated if you are not in the know.
It was not directed at you IN ANY WAY.

I figured this would have even been removed, as my other comments were as well, removed. Inso far as the other(s) excluding 1 comment. Was removed that was kinda directed at 1 person with the initials JK clearly defined, (as just kidding).

You are not, whom I was speaking.
So please disregard, I had copied and pasted all of my last text, as I figured as the rest of them were (removed) including an ENTIRE post, that was nothing more than copied and pasted from Popular Science on men's mental health.
And the fact, at how censorship is now shown in comparison to what it was just a few years ago in this very forum (just look at the joke area, and what some people can get away with saying and others can not) I reiterate statement below since it fits here=This was the last thing I needed to clarify (assuming, this post will survive (I did not want to be known as the ass in the situation)

I have no issue with any particular person here (other than 1 person, that has clearly shown a disdain for something I did or said) With the removal of some posts, as well a backhanded way to say I am stupid (in not so many words) This person will know exactly whom I speak of. As my posts were monitored quite well.
.
Again, sorry you feel as though you got caught up in something Theo (Joat) It was not my intention.
This was the last thing I needed to clarify (assuming, this post will survive (I did not want to be known as the ass in the situation)

I found nothing offensive in the original post. But then, I experienced and used, similar wording to which that article referred. What I find offensive is extreme PC and those who's agenda it controls.

I have no idea what is going on here with the post or the history of it, but the country is certainly turning into a different country. The first thing to shut down is expression. If you don't like what someone is saying or you don't agree with it or it might offend someones delicate sense of being, then, by all means, stop anyone else from hearing it. Ban books, ban speakers, ban pictures, paintings or cartoons even ban plan old hats of a certain color. It's all for the good of mankind oh oh I meant personkind. Sorry for the sexist mistake.

Didn't they do this in Germany in the late 1930s? Just a question.

There are no rude comments made about other members whether you include JK at the end or not. Period. David deleted that part and I went in just after him and deleted the rest of your post. Your comment was totally inaccurate. The thread included comments about buying locally and on line, contrary to your comment that it was only about on line shopping. Therefore there was nothing wrong with the comment that your post referred to and no reason for your attitude towards. If you think you can do that sort of thing without being censured then you should leave and go somewhere else.

The thread you started with the article from Popular Science was borderline political in nature and political and religious discussions have been banned on this forum. We took a poll a couple of years ago to make sure the members agreed with that position and it was a landslide decision Not to allow those. I thought about deleting it the first time I read it but I decided to wait and just see what the members reactions to it were and it was as I predicted. They didn't feel that topic belonged here. After a small amount of discussion with David he put it in moderation where only Mods and Admin can see it.

As for jokes, that thread got started long before I became a Moderator. It's tone was set by that time. It's a thread where you can expect that some of the content might be found to be offensive to some people and often off color but you have the choice to click on it or don't click on it. It is meant in good fun and either gender can make jokes about the other as long as they aren't truly in bad taste. We have gone in and cleaned up a few that targeted specific political beliefs or religious beliefs instead of keeping it generic. For example jokes about politicians in general are allowed but not about a specific one or party.

Those are the rules Brian and you can whine and complain all you want but they aren't going to change so if they aren't to your liking then feel free to leave.
