Default Chess anyone?

Got an idea for a simple chess set, and decided to check to see if anyone had come up with something similar. Didn't find any similar, but did find some really nice, and expensive (except one that was priced at $25,000 looked like it had been made by a 7th grader) sets. Also found some nice sets that would be pretty easy to duplicate. But mostly found some really weird sets. On the other hand besides the regular chess boards, found some really nice one, so will be going back and just check out chess boards - none look to be difficult to reproduce, and would make nice gifts.

Ran into a few I thought I'd pass along.

Dadburn, computer playing games again. One I especially wanted to post is not there, so have to go back and find it again. Found it.

Look close, one set is made of cardboard. Tossed in a few boards too.

There was a pretty Chinese chess set at the auction I went to yesterday. The outside of the case was severely beaten from the years, but the pieces and the board were awesome to look at. Unfortunately (fortunately?) there was somebody there who knew how much it was worth, otherwise I would have had to bring it home.

I don't play anywhere as near as often as I did years ago, but it is still a fun game.

Hi Theo.
There are very nice chess boards. I recently saw the vertical one on Pinterest but I liked more the one on the last picture.

Most unusual. I don't play chess anymore. I get tired of getting beat by my 12 yo grandson!

I love chess but don't have anyone to play with anymore, so out of practice. Mine is a glass set, my brother had a 3d set like in star trek, not sure if he still has it or not. I have thought about carving a set but just no time right now.

Same here. Never was really good, but really enjoyed playing. I'm old fashioned, I want my chess board flat. I did make a set, but didn't come out like I wanted, and never bothered to tweak the design. But, have some more ideas on it now, so may do it.

You can always play with someone by mail, or likely e-mail. Not tried it myself. When I get a chess urge I look up battle chess, and watch that for a bit, very entertaining.

Cool! My sister's been trying to teach me how to play.
I keep getting all the different pieces confused. She likes to use the Knights so I always try to take those out first.

It is not a lot of fun playing by email, I like to watch the other person try to figure out my crazy moves, I am not that good but fun confusing them lol.
